In February of 2018, the Perdido Chamber sent a letter to express opposition and place a public comment in regards to the 2019-2024 Draft proposed National Oil and Gas Leasing Program which would allow drilling on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
The public position was based on the economic impact of tourism, military presence, and protection of our beautiful beaches.
After the devastation of the 2010 BP oil spill, our area knows the repercussions of the effects of offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
