Veterans make unimaginable sacrifices for our freedom, and they deserve our utmost respect. At The annual Wreaths Across America event at Barrancas National Cemetery, we strive to honor veterans and to teach this respect to the next generation. In partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Foundation, Inc. and Wreaths Across America, we collect funds for wreaths for the graves in the Barrancas National Cemetery. Through our efforts, we hope to teach young people in our community to remember and honor the sacrifices veterans have made for our country.
Sponsor a Wreath
All the wreaths at Barrancas National Cemetery are provided by donations from sponsors like you. Last year we had over 23,000 wreaths; our largest number ever. We are still far short of covering the 40-50,000 graves in the cemetery. Please sponsor wreaths for the forgotten veterans and encourage others to do so. Remember, Honor, Teach!
Sponsoring Wreaths at Barrancas National Cemetery
Barrancas National Cemetery has over 47,000 graves. Last year only about 23,500 wreaths were sponsored. We look forward to the day when every grave has a wreath. We welcome orders of all sizes.
Most people sponsor one or more wreaths without a specific grave placement. These are used for mass placements in both the new and old sections of the cemetery, ensuring that no grave is forgotten.
If you request it, we will place a wreath on a specific grave at Barrancas for you. Last year over 1900 specific grave placements were honored. Please provide us with the veteran’s full name and the gravesite Section, Row, and Number on your order form. Use the Gravesite Locator button below to check on your loved one’s location information. You can request specific placements for multiple graves in the same order. Due to limited volunteer availability, we will no longer take and send pictures of the wreaths on the graves.
If you would prefer to place the wreath or wreaths yourself, please indicate that on your order, or we will place them. Include an email address so we can send you directions for wreath pickup in December.
Visit Barrancaswreaths.com for more information on sponsoring a wreath or getting involved in the event.
